Manawatū Cricket Association (MCA) recognised the need to create more inclusive and accessible pathways for female participants in cricket. Historically, girls were part of the cricket community, but they lacked dedicated programmes, teams, and clear pathways for participation. Addressing this gap became a focal point for MCA, leading to the development of initiatives to empower women and girls in cricket.
