Sylvia Brunt, Black Fern and proud Ponsonby Rugby Club explains the club’s school holidays ‘Baby Fillies Skill Sessions’ – using games and skill activities to get young girls into rugby.

The programme challenges traditional stereotypes that girl’s aren’t meant to play rugby, be aggressive, or play in the mud – instead encouraging the girls to express their power, strength, speed and aggression.

It also opens these girls eyes up to the career path now available to them through professional rugby in Aotearoa.
