Harcourts HB Women’s Triathlon will be a celebration of goals, challenges and incredible support along the way.

This women's only event has specifically been designed for first timers. Even if you have never considered doing a triathlon before, this event is 100% achievable for you.You will be in great company for your first triathlon and will be joined on the start line with other ‘having a go’ amazing wahine.There are also longer events for you more competitive types! You can enter as a team or as individual. We also have run/walk only option as well as Duathlon, Aquathlon and Aquabike disciplines!

So get your besties, your work mates, or your family together and dive in, take the plunge, put on your shoes, get on that bike, get training, get entered and we will see you at the finish line. There are multiple different races with different distances and options that will suit everyone, from the absolute beginner to the seasoned athlete. We encourage participants from the age of 7 to 99 and walkers are welcome and absolutely encouraged to enter.

All events are held under the watchful eye of the amazing team at Triathlon Hawkes Bay (proud winners of the HB Grassroots Club of Year Award 2021 and 2022).All entry fees go directly to the Heretaunga Women’s Centre, so whilst you are out there feeling good, you are making a real difference to the women of HB. Girls Skate NZ Skateboarding Clinic- Waterview Skatepark 2024

Girls Skate NZ aims to empower girls through skateboarding, an activity that boosts confidence, mental toughness and physical health. Participants are taught how to skate in a warm and friendly environment where they can feel safe and progress at a level that is comfortable for them. While learning the basics of skateboarding, students will also be taught the correct safety measures and skatepark etiquette to prevent injury.

Each class has an average of 20 girls attend. With 3-5+ coaches there to lend a hand.

As the students arrive we split them into several separate groups with a coach. Coaches work through a range of skills, activites and fun and engaging games.

The groups they get put in are based on their skill level and age, or with the coach we think will be the most beneficial for them!

Classes are open to all ages and abilities. From complete beginners to those wanting to advance their tricks.

Skateboards and safety gear are available for hire for those who need.

Jeni Pearce is an esteemed figure in New Zealand's sports nutrition scene, as Performance Nutritionist at High Performance Sport NZ. With a rich background working across diverse sports, she's a prolific author and researcher, recognised with the Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for her outstanding service in sports nutrition.

Rebecca Dodson – Pelvic Health Physiotherapist at Leto Women's Health & Greenwood Physio Clinic

Rebecca is a Women's Health Physiotherapist with over 20 years’ experience working in both New Zealand and the UK. She has completed a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Certificate in Women's Health, both from University of Otago.

Clinically Rebecca works in a private practice in Auckland, seeing patients with a range of Musculoskeletal, Sports and Pelvic Health issues. She also runs pelvic health educational workshops and develops educational material for groups requiring specialist pelvic health insight and guidance – striving to break down the barriers for girls and women and enhance female athlete performance and wellbeing.

EMR Auckland School Holiday Programme - Takapuna 2

About this event

If you are looking for activities for your kids to get involved in this October school holidays, this is a fantastic opportunity for them to safely explore the mōana/ocean, develop in-water confidence and learn about te taiao/environment, especially our coastlines.

We are able to offer a full day of activities for 12 kids aged 7-14.

The day will involve 1 snorkel, rockpooling, learning ways to record data either: visual habitat assesment, rockyshore marine meters squarded survey or ecological surveys and marine themed games.

All activities are weather dependant, and locations may change due to conditions. Lake Pupuke may be used as a back up snorkel location. EMR will make the best judgment on the day due to sea conditions on which locations/activities will be used. In the event of unsuitable weather the event will be cancelled. You will be given 24 hours notice of any cancelations and full refund if EMR cancels.

These events have been subsidised thanks to the Bobby Stafford-Bush Foundation.

To make the event more accessable to lower income families we have some subsidised tickets available with a $20 discount. Contact becky@mountainstosea.org.nz to get the code.

Adults may also be asked to act as our shore watch where you would be responsible for checking individuals in/out of the water and keeping an eye on the group whilst snorkeling.
