Pioneer of Change Winner - Kimberley Kan

Kimberley Kan is the driving force behind the Women's Football Centre in Wellington, a free, welcoming space where women of all ages can learn the basics of football or rediscover their love for the game. This skill centre was created to offer a safe, supportive environment for women exploring sport as adults, whether they're trying football for the first time or getting back into it after some time away.

The Women's Football Centre is designed to break down barriers, allowing women to build confidence, develop essential football skills, and thrive in a more relaxed setting before stepping into formal team sports. To support participants on their journey, Kimberley and her team have also created a comprehensive toolkit with information on how and where to sign up for various football clubs and opportunities throughout the Wellington region. This makes it easier for women to navigate the football scene and continue their newfound passion long after their time at the centre.
